What you should know about Surfline Surfboards
Roger Hall’s parents moved the family to a small seaside Village in Ruakaka, Bream Bay, Northland, New Zealand. He discovered the white sandy beaches and the blue Pacific Ocean and it wasn’t long before he followed both his brothers footsteps and became a Surfer. By the age of 13, Roger was shaping and building surfboards under the watchful eye of his father. His Dad encouraged him to develop an eye for curves and to learn how to measure and capture key elements of his designs.
Accurate record keeping has been a vital component in his design philosophy ever since. During the majority of the ’70s, Roger built Twin Keel Fishes under the name of Woodenships. Roger was joined by surfing buddy Colin Unkovich who took over some of the manufacturing duties and this partnership endured until 2006. Together they focused on building innovative surfboards to high standards of quality and durability.
Ben was shaping and surfing according to the vision in Roger’s head that incorporated lots of different styles of boards including very short wide summer fun boards and new longboards. Out of frustration, he drove to the windsurfer factory and begged them to let him make a false bottom in one of the molds. Over the years, he has done many shaping stints to other factories in New Zealand and around the world. Many thousand surfboards later, Roger and his Team of talented craftsmen take great pride in designing and building a wide range of innovative surfboards which are well known for their quality and durability.
In Surfline’s philosophy surfing is defined as a very special pastime which we enjoy as a result of our own individual connection to the Ocean. Roger’s approach to designing and building Custom Surfboards is founded on the following principles
This board is all about generating speed for tall performance man oeuvres in trivial to moderate surf. The first ever Candy Deposit SALE is on for the month of July! Behind nearly 44 years of building custom surfboards, Roger takes time out of the shaping bay to answer a few. Made in Fresh Zealand with integrity, heart and soul by surfers dedicated to the art of Surfboards. THE CANDY STORE HAS A SPECIAL OFFER ON FOR THE MONTH OF July! IT’S TIME FOLKS The beginning of The Release Way Project Demo days is scheduled for Sunday 26th of. A rather notable sand bank formed in fore of my house and stayed for 3 months! A rootsey celebration of Surfboards, Surfing and our Summer Lifestyle! Made in New Zealand with integrity, heart and soul by surfers dedicated to the art of Surfboards.
We have lots of Goodies in The Candy Store A selection of carefully thought out models which we have designed. Roger Hall has been surfing, designing and shaping surfboards for over 40 years. From a uniquely kiwi perspective and for the third year running, iconic NZ brand Barkers have collaborated with Surfline Custom Surfboards to weave the stories, colors and textures of 45 years of designing and crafting custom surfboards in the land of The Long White Cloud
