Together with the other members of the Federation we are able to submit our ideas and concerns to the Department Of Housing as well as act as an adviser on matters related to our trade. The Northland Masonry Trades Association is very aware that as a trade we need to encourage young people to be aware of the benefits a bricklaying qualification would give them To facilitate this, the Association is now applying to become an Incorporated Society so that we can set up a training system to help school leavers to do a pre apprenticeship course. We will be working with industry leaders and schools to put this into practice
The time involved with carrying bricks or blocks is not that vast and is usually worked in during the day when it is skillful Ag at the end of the day or while the mixer is turning. Members of the association are free to charge as much or as little as they wish, however the market sets a believable rate, anyone charging more than market rates will soon run out of work while those charging less may need to because their standards may not be what we expect from our members.
The club has had a harsh couple of years, with floods twice wrecking the club rooms. The result is that the salt in the product is drawn out when the brick dries. For two years Simon and Nancy Tan worked 12 hours a day, seven days a week, saving up for the New Zealand dream their own home on a segment of land honest exterior Whangarei. Behind being ripped off by a shady builder NM TA decided to help the Tans finish their dream house.
The responsibility is then on the bricklayer to supply enough material for the job and to detach any that are left over. When we saw what had happened to them up here we wanted to lend a hand, he said. Mr Nieuwelaar said the 10 or so bricklayers had been lent a van by the North land Rugby Union and should have maximum of the work laying bricks donated by Stevenson done in a day. Simon and Nancy Tans house was another community project the North land bricklayers undertook. Club captain Robbie Ball said things were looking up for the club after two hard years.
North land Masonry Trades Association has been running since 1988 with years of Masonry experience in bricklaying and block laying. Raising the Kano rugby club to thwart tomorrow flooding was the North land Masonry Trades Association beginning community project. But today, members of the North land branch of the Certified Builders' Association and North land Masonry Trades Association will be at the Crane Rd site, donating their time and skills to get the house finished. A Whangarei bricklayer and member of the North land Masonry Trades Association, Goff Nieuwelaar, said he was looking forward to making a difference for Kano by laying the bricks this week.
North land builders and masonry workers have rallied round to assist a Cambodian couple whose dream Whangarei home was left unfinished behind problems with their builder
